25 I f you did not have the pleasure of joining CNCDA for our sec- ond Annual Convention in the gorgeous Napa Valley, it was a huge success! With more than 170 at- tendees, convention participants got to spend three days at the beautiful Silverado Resort and Spa nestled in Napa Valley’s hillside. With pro- gram discussions, activities unique to Napa, and networking with peers, this was an event to remember. This year’s convention was made up of a timely, relevant program, The Future of the Franchise, including speakers who were able to engage dealers on issues that are front and center in dealerships today. With five engaging and dynamic speak- ers, discussions included a variety of topics including how to best engage and keep great employees, digital retailing, how to comply with the CCPA, data security, and the current state of the economy as it relates to the automotive industry. Closing out the program, we were joined by golfer extraordinaire, Johnny Miller, who held a candid discussion on his experience as one of the best golfers of all time, what that has meant to him and how he has stayed focused during and beyond his time as a pro golfer. In addition, we held a Dealer Only session which gave dealers the opportunity to have an open discus- sion with CNCDA President, Brian Maas, on issues that are of concern in everyday business practices and California politics including the pas- sage of AB 179, the challenges ex- pected with the CCPA and ongoing association efforts aimed at reform- ing wage and hour laws. To supplement our valuable program, CNCDA also provided several activi- ties for convention attendees, includ- ing a wine-tasting tour, a golf outing, and an afternoon at the Silverado spa. Dealers and sponsors were able to relax after the day’s program and experience some of the best activi- ties the Napa Valley has to offer. The third and final evening, attend- ees made their way to a beautiful and unique venue, The Culinary Institute of America at Copia. With a live band, a sit-down dinner in the famous Hestan Kitchen, and world-renowned Napa Valley wine, the night was filled with fun and delicious food while dancing and singing commenced on the dance floor. We want to thank all of our sponsors for their support in making this such a fantastic event; we couldn’t have done it without you. We also want to extend our gratitude to all of our dealer members who took the time to travel to Napa and participate in this event. Your engagement always makes a difference. As we continue to receive positive feedback from this year’s attendees, CNCDA is excited to continue the con- vention going forward. Next year it will take place at the Ritz Carlton in Dana Point, California. We hope to continue growing participation at the Annual Convention and look forward to see- ing you next year in sunny Southern California from October 4-7! 3
