2 BRIAN MAAS President California New Car Dealers Association President's Message I t’s that time of year again when CNCDA is reaching out to all members to encourage participation at our Annual Convention. After a decade-long hiatus, 2019 is our second year bringing back this event. I am excited about our upcoming program, location and activities. As a Northern California native, I am particularly looking forward to traveling to beautiful Napa Valley with dealers from all over the state. Taking place October 13–16 at the Silverado Resort and Spa, this year’s convention will be highlighted by Napa’s gorgeous fall weather and landscape. This is considered one of the best times to visit Napa because of the mild temperatures and fall colors that can be seen making their debut in the trees and throughout nearby vineyards. As we all know, the automotive retail industry is swiftly evolving. It’s CNCDA’s goal to provide dealers an opportunity and venue to come together and engage in discussions on how to best tackle ongoing challenges and embrace shifting industry dynamics. This year’s convention will provide you with valuable discussion topics, industry experts, and face-to-face time with your peers so you can learn from each other’s knowledge and experience. The theme, Future of the Franchise, will focus on critical issues relevant to your day-to-day businesses, including best practices for your dealership to comply with California’s new data privacy requirements, how to best ignite employee engagement and productivity, and an update on the digital retailing world. With world-renowned wines and some of the nation’s best golf courses, we are also looking forward to the fun we have in store! You will have the choice of wine tasting, golf, or spa activities during your free time in Napa. • As one of the world’s most recognized regions for wine, Napa has more than 450 wineries that are open to the public for tasting. Napa is nestled in between dozens of quaint restaurants, wine bars and boutique hotels; there is no better place in the United Sates to visit while you drink the varietals of your choice. • If you’re eager to hit the links, the Silverado offers two PGA golf courses surrounded by breathtaking and luxurious grounds where you can challenge yourself on a championship course. • If neither of the first two options appeals to you, you can enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the quiet and beautiful Spa at Silverado. This Napa Valley getaway has something for everyone. Bring your spouse, your kids, and dealership employees, and plan to have a memorable experience at the California dealer event of the year.
