25 I f you did not have the pleasure of joining CNCDA for our first Annual Convention in over a de- cade last October on the island of Maui, it was a huge success! With more than 150 attendees, convention participants got to spend three days at the beautiful Fairmont Kea Lani on the island of Maui participating in pro- gram discussions, Hawaiian activities and networking with peers during receptions and free-time. The convention was made up of a timely, relevant program, Meeting Today’s Dealer Needs and Tomorrow’s Innovations , including speakers who were able to engage dealers on issues that are front and center in dealerships today. With 7 dynamic speakers discussing a vari- ety of topics including generational challenges, industry developments and the future of transportation, each session ignited thought provoking engagement and further discussion from attendees. In addition, we pro- vided a Dealer Only session which gave dealers the opportunity to have a candid discussion with CNCDA President, Brian Maas, on issues that are of concern in everyday business practices and California politics. With weather consistently in the mid 80’s, CNCDA provided several activi- ties for convention attendees includ- ing a catamaran ride, a tour of Maui Brewing Company and a golf outing. Dealers and sponsors were able to relax after the day’s program and ex- perience some of the best activities Maui has to offer to its visitors. The third and final evening, attend- ees made their way to a beautiful outdoor venue, overlooking the ocean and the sunset, to participate in our Farewell Beach Bash. We had live music, drinks and appetizers and a sit-down dinner, all on the backdrop of a gorgeous Maui evening. The night was filled with fun as dealers took the stage to join the band in en- tertaining the crowd, the photo booth was filled with people looking to capture a fun shot with their spouses, and dancing and singing commenced on the dance floor. With all the positive feedback from last year’s attendees, CNCDA will continue the convention going for- ward, with a rotating schedule, this year to take place in Napa, California. We hope to continue growing par- ticipation at the Annual Convention and hope you can join us this year at the beautiful Silverado Resort from October 13 - 16!! 3
